The Wearable Plastic Eye Frames of the Eye-Com EC7T |
The Eye-Com EC7T™ eye tracking system, designed and developed by Eye-Com Corporation,
is an advanced eye tracking platform that uses frame-mounted
microcameras to not only record eyelid and pupil activity, but also to
track head movement. The integrated, wearable system is a versatile
device with all video, lighting, and electronic components encased
within the uniquely designed, eyeframes. This system gives individuals with ALS, paralysis, traumatic brain injuries, MS and stroke damage a means to overcome communication challenges and access to online communities and support. The Eye-Com EC7T is a gateway for the outside world for these people.
The EC7T system has amazing capabilities, the eye tracking system uses accurate pupil detection and allows eye movements for proper identification of the user's gaze location, and it can track both eyes at the same time. Along with eye tracking, this device has head tracking which detects the user's head movement to help control and get just the right viewing angle. Both the eye and head tracking have be used to control the computer mouse by blinking or looking at an icon for more than three seconds! To top it off, the EC7T system captures biometric data such as pupil position, diameter etc. and it can be set up with other biometric devices such as EEG, EKG and Pulse Oximeter.
Price for the system ranges between $10,000 - $12,000
